Innoval 02

Third edition of the Innoval space at the biennial Barcelona Alimentaria International Foodstuffs and Drinks Show. A space location change in relation to its previous editions brought about a new focus to the whole concept of the set up. The space was divided into two parts i.e. the Reception and a main Exhibition area. A light but visually impacting structure formed the latter, encircled with large flowing strands of vinyl screen fabric draping down from the ceiling and curving on to the coloured fitted carpet. Concealed wedges were used to tie the fabric to the ground while keeping it tensed. The screens were held up by an iron structure hidden behind the fabric also providing support to the self-lit glass showcases and the spotlighting fixtures. The strands were interlaced between each other whenever the products exhibited belonged to related food families. The Reception area also followed a circular layout comprising functional elements such as the Reception counter, an Internet surfing desk and a seating space equipped with custom designed benches which integrated a video projecting system in their wooden structure. A central helicoidal mobile made of orange Plexiglas provides a touch of dynamism to the weightless yet welcoming space.
