Chain of shoe stores across Barcelona based on a clear vocation to reach the masses. Its focus on commercial strategy eliminates the traditional shop window display inviting the public to walk straight in and contemplate an open product display at arm’s reach.
Chain of shoe stores across Barcelona based on a clear vocation to reach the masses. Its focus on commercial strategy eliminates the traditional shop window display inviting the public to walk straight in and contemplate an open product display at arm’s reach. A great black-lacquered steel box outlines the main entrance. A glass horizontal slot cut across this box allows the display of a small shop window. The backdrop of the latter consists of a large sliding door which is used to close the shop entrance outside working hours. This panel follows the same pattern as the window continuing its horizontal glass slot situated at mid-height. During opening hours the door is hidden behind the window, serving as a rear closure system while offering free access to passers-by. Contrarily, at closing time it slides across to bar the main entrance while freeing the back of the window. Once in the interior of the shop, one finds translucent back-lit Plexiglas walls printed with shoe brand logos serving as a backdrop to the product exhibition shelving.
